How has Pangaea affected you?
Pangaea has been the most rewarding experience of my life and continues to propel my career. After the Brazil trip, I truly became a global citizen - I furthered my fluency in Portuguese, interacted with a multitude of industry professionals who showed us the philanthropic and international sides of business, and made connections that will last a life time. Volunteering in Rocinha allowed us to connect with the local community, have full cultural immersion, and have first-hand experience with the work that NGOs do in other countries. Pangaea ignited my passion for travel and has prepared me with the skills to be a competitive applicant in the job market. Without Pangaea Abroad, I would not be where I am today.
What was your most memorable moment?
My most memorable experience happened when we were helping to teach english to some students in Rocinha. I especially remember having a deep connection to a little boy named Claudio. I realized the difference I could make in the world from that moment. That moment is what motivates me to continue to learn and grow to my fullest potential, so that I can go back and help Claudio in a big way.
What would you tell others that are interested in Pangaea?
Doing this program was easily the best decision of my life. You will grow and learn more than you ever thought was possible. You will make life long connections with amazing people. You will become so inspired and have some of the best moments of your life. I wish everyone in the world could have access to this program, it is something so beautiful and special that words cannot even describe.

tWhat I loved about the program
Our mentors and the participants came together to do projects and learn how to get contacts from other adults. I also loved it that we learned how to make our own website.
My biggest lesson was...
Learning to be prepared.... The biggest takeaway from my summer experience is finding my calling. I found out that I want to help people and live my life by serving others. This is a huge takeaway for me, as I now have a direction I want to lead and live my life in. The beginning of my lifelong journey started at Pangaea.
One's destination is never a place but rather a new way of looking at things
2018 NEW YORK
Pangaea Abroad collaborated with organizations from Korea, Brazil, and China for various businesses including STEM curriculum training, tech career workshops and U.S college life and career planning workshops to test and strengthen Pangaea Abroad's Youth Future Prep Curriculum.
Pangaea Abroad launched its Social Entrepreneurship program and scaled its program internationally. The goal of the program was to cultivate Global Citizenship in American and Brazilian participants through Social Entrepreneurship education. Participants that started as complete strangers from diverse backgrounds were put in a shared living space and given a project to develop a scalable social enterprise in 20 days. Professionals across the globe working for Unilever, Gerber Babies, Apple and other global companies taught business fundamentals virtually, while Brazilian and American expat social entrepreneurs ran workshops in person. At the end of the program, participants had the opportunity to pitch their ideas and receive feedback from social venture leaders. Strangers became the best of friends and the cohort still keeps in touch today.
2014 & 2015 LOS ANGELES
Pangaea Abroad began as Pangaea Global Leadership Summit in Los Angeles. The summit was aimed at helping high school students explore global careers and connect with young professionals from a diverse range of fields, so students may develop a better sense of career direction. Most are now college students across the U.S pursuing their dreams.
